Access Control Systems

Access control is a whole different approach to offering properties a greater level of protection, by keeping doors or gates locked without the need to physically issue keys. By employing the use of one of the many forms of electronic, individual identification methods, it gives the owner the ability to control who goes where at what time within the property. This could be lift car and floor access, door, gate, drawer, cupboard or, in fact, anywhere there is a requirement for access restrictions.

The majority of the systems employed today also have the facility to operate in a totally stand alone capacity, running on their own battery backed power source should a fault develop with the head end controller. Also retaining a comprehensive access log which is then uploaded to the controller when communications are restored. This is a fail safe way of ensuring that no access records ever go missing.

The access control products that we supply are:

  • Standalone code pad entry units
  • Video and audio intercoms
  • PABX linked entry stations
  • Combined access/intruder alarm control panels
  • Remote control unlocking facility's both encrypted radio signal and wireless 26bit Weigand output.
  • Secure coding between reader heads and Proximity cards, totally eliminating the possibility of rogue, illegally reproduced cards.
  • Auto car park proximity access systems
  • Biometric Access Systems, eliminating the risk, worry and expense of lost Access cards, using an individual's fingerprint as identification within a systems user database. Particularly beneficial when used in a larger commercial environment.

With the larger systems the ability to generate a rolling log of "who entered which door at what time" is a built in feature. This can be either held within the control panels or displayed as a live screen in a guard house or management office. This kind of power, over where employees or tenants are allowed to go and have been previously is invaluable. Onsite and offsite access management is also available along with offsite backup and maintenance of databases.

Take a look at the image found on this page, this particular client requested access via proximity badge on both sides of the door. So here's the summary of the image.

  • Mini Proximity reader on both sides of the door
  • Electronically activated strike that was cut into a steel frame with the ability to flag the following conditions; Door Physically Closed, Door Physically Locked, Door Physically Forced open.
  • An emergency Break glass unit that will release the door strike, then cause a local evacuation alarm to sound and send an automatic signal to the monitoring station to alert them that there is a problem onsite.
  • All valid entries and exits to this door are automatically recorded to the server, allowing full history to be easily recalled.
